Personalised Leather Valentines Gifts (with a twist!)
With Valentine’s Day coming up, I thought I would write a quick list of some great valentines gifts for those of you lacking inspiration – it also happens to be my personal wish list (hint, hint Matt)!

1. It may not be the first thing you think of when you hear ‘Valentine’s’, but I absolutely love receiving books. Whether it is fashion, photography or travel, I love a good coffee table book. A couple of books that I have my eye on are Gypsy: A World of Colours and Interiors by Sibella Court which looks absolutely full of gorgeous patterns, eclectic designs and Bohemian interiors, and Horst: Photographer of Style by Anna Wintour and Susanna Brown, a definitive celebration of one of Vogue’s most prolific contributors.

2. As lovely as store-bought presents can be (and they can be lovely!), it’s always really nice to get a slightly more personal gift. And so, with the boys getting a little older, and Herbie especially becoming more and more interested in making things, I would absolutely love a painting or card made by them.

3. Back to the more materialistic presents, I have really been enjoying using red lipsticks at the moment. My all-time favourites are Chanel’s Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour and MAC’s Lipstick in MAC Red or Chilli but I have had my eye on Anna Sui’s Lipstick in the colour 400 or 401, for the beautiful shades but also because of the gorgeous packaging!

4. I have a huge collection of bags, as you might have guessed, but the two things I don’t have that many of are make-up bags and wash bags. I love travelling and so any excuse to attain some more fantastic travel accessories is fine by me! A couple I have been looking at are now listed on our website as we have just launched a new range of funky and functional leather make up bags and leather wash bags with some fun coloured accents. Take a look at the navy and neon pink leather wash bag or its little sister the matching leather make-up bag in navy leather with neon pink accents. Both these can be personalised with the name or message of your choosing too.

5. I also always really enjoy gifts that are not necessarily ‘gifts’ but ‘experiences. Some extravagant ideas are things like a lovely long massage or spa treatment, a one to one yoga session or a wine tasting, but even just having a lie-in or breakfast in bed would be lovely!

6. As I have mentioned before, I have a lot of bags, but I may have to ask for just one or two more. I have been intrigued and very excited by the 70s style revival that has been popular this season, and so, in order to keep up with this fashion flashback (that I wrote about last week , it is only fair that I get one of our Large Vintage 2 Pocket Saddle Bags . Perhaps this will be a present from me, to me!

7. Last, but definitely not least, I absolutely love flowers, and there is nothing nicer than coming home to a bouquet of your favourites. And so, if nothing else, a simple bunch of flowers will make my Valentine’s Day (so long as its not grabbed from a petrol station forecourt on your way home Matt).
If you, like me, know exactly what you would love, but don’t exactly have any ideas on what to buy your loved ones, then keep your eye out as I am planning a detailed gift guide for men and women which should appear by the end of the week.
In the meantime, have a browse of our site for some more inspiration, there's some lovely coloured glass jewellery and solid silver rings as well as leather goods.
